The artist Karin Karrenberg takes the motifs of her works of art from everyday life and transfers them into a sphere between pop art and surrealism that attracts attention. Strong colour, irritation of size and spatial references as well as naturalism characterise her oil painting. In addition, she is engaged in printmaking, collage, watercolour and photography.
"Between pop and surreal" was the title of the exhibition in Düsseldorf City Hall, where Karin Karrenberg retrospectively presented excerpts from fifty years of her artistic activity in Düsseldorf.
This monograph traces a special aspect of her art. More than 85 reproductions are accompanied by short texts by the artist in German, English and French. They provide an introduction to the various themes of her work. The brilliant colour reproduction and generous image size delight the beholder´s eye.

Studium an der renommierten Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Zentrum ihres Werkes ist die Ölmalerei. Alltagsgegenstände führen den Betrachter trotz oft sehr naturalistischer Malweise auf Irrwege. Helle, freundliche Farben, Gegenüberstellung von Raum und Fläche, Reales und Surreales bestimmen die Bilder. Neben der Ölmalerei finden sich Aquarelle, Serigrafien, Radierungen, Fotografien und Collagen.
